Community
Comprised of producers and users of geographic information interested in contributing to the sustainable development of the Orinoquia, aware of the importance of facilitating access and promoting the use of quality and up-to-date geographic information for timely decision-making, and committed to complying with agreements, policies, and guidelines that support the development and evolution of the IDE.
The IDE community consists of entities, organizations, and society representatives from the official, territorial, private, academic, and non-governmental sectors, who generate and exchange geographic information and knowledge.
The functional model defined for IDE Orinoquia corresponds to a federated model[1], resulting from the harmonization of information through nodes, represented in each of the institutions and territorial entities that make up the IDE, and who are responsible for providing updated and quality information to users and other members of IDE Orinoquia, according to the institutional mission and objectives related to the infrastructure.
[1] A federated database system is defined as a system of multiple cooperative databases where each node in that federation has autonomy over its data and defines a common interface or common protocol to export, through which data becomes available to other nodes. The Change Management Strategy of IDE Orinoquia is based on the following pillars:
Cause and Purpose: In his famous theory of evolution, naturalist Charles Darwin revealed that we need to know how to adapt to change. The key to adapting today is to establish a clear and structured framework to manage the impacts of change. There are several theories, but one of the most accepted is the one proposed by John Kotter (Professor of Leadership at Harvard Business School) in his book Leading Change (1995).
Getting everyone in the company to see change as a necessity. For this, for example, change can be proposed as an opportunity for growth in the region.
Gamification: All activities within the framework of gamification aim to achieve three distinct objectives. One is to build participant loyalty by creating a connection with the content they are working on. On one hand, it becomes a fundamental tool against boredom and generates motivation. And ultimately, we need to optimize and reward participants with activities that have no other motivation than learning about IDE Orinoquia itself.
Co-creation: The ideal of co-creation is that everyone involved in IDE Orinoquia works together to generate ideas that facilitate user interaction and improve responsiveness. Co-creation helps maintain the usability of IDE Orinoquia over time, as well as generating dynamism in updating its information. Today society progresses, and with it, producers, public, and private entities must advance in a world of innovation and creativity. What must be clear is that commitment is the main driver from which all progress towards change and strategy execution begins.
Meaningful Conversations: Different learning methodologies make storytelling an excellent activity to learn deeply and integrate with your team. It can also be used as a training tool for interesting and structured narratives or as a space for self-knowledge or personal development. All this framed in a playful moment and a fun conversation.
The change management strategy arises from the perspective of generating change from a personal standpoint to the spatial data infrastructure of Orinoquia.

Geographic Information
It is one of the foundational components of IDE Orinoquia, and corresponds to the essential input required by the community for decision-making, project development, meeting societal needs, public policy formulation, and generally generating knowledge around the sustainable development of the Colombian Orinoquia. Geographic information in the IDE is classified as follows:
Fundamental Data:
These are the base upon which other geospatial data are built. They allow for spatial data localization, thematic geographic product generation, the integration of different information sources, and a better analysis of statistical data. These must be interoperable and freely accessible, created to serve both various administrative entities and society at large in territorial decision-making. (1)
Thematic Data:
These require fundamental data for their generation and are developed for specific purposes and interests of a particular user or products. They are also known as value-added data, which are improved or integrated with other data to create a higher value-added product. (2)
Information Products:
The result of processing, integrating, and analyzing fundamental and thematic data, this is the materialization of the IDE members' knowledge and the opportunity to return value-added information to the IDE to continue a dynamic and up-to-date lifecycle.

Geographic Information Technologies
Like geographic information, technologies are a foundational component of IDE Orinoquia. These technologies are the means by which geographic information is generated, stored, managed, processed, and made available for consultation, access, and use by the community and the public. IDE Orinoquia leverages the use of technological advancements and solutions from IDE members, at the institutional and sectoral levels.
The IDE integrates into the Rural Agricultural Planning Information System (SIPRA) and has different mechanisms for providing information to users within the framework of the Unified National Rural and Agricultural Information System (SNUIRA), such as strategic information dashboards and Agronet. Similarly, IDE Orinoquia is articulated with the environmental sector through the National Environmental System of Colombia (SIAC) and the information available from entities through web services. Likewise, IDE Orinoquia promotes publication on the Colombian State Open Data Portal.
