Bogotá, D.C., (@UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). UPRA presented its institutional offerings at the Sectorial Workshop on Agroindustrial Perspectives 2024, an event organized by the Association of Pharmaceutical Industries in Colombia (Asinfar Agro), an association that brings together companies dedicated to researching, developing, manufacturing, importing, and marketing products for crop protection, animal health, and public health.
"At UPRA, we conduct exercises in agricultural information governance to effectively address the needs of Colombian agriculture. For example, we support the Ministry of Agriculture in the Unified Command Post, #PMUAgro, which addresses the effects of El Niño and La Niña phenomena by capturing and processing data on crop and animal impacts in all 32 departments of the country," said Claudia Liliana Cortés, UPRA Director.
Some agricultural information systems managed and led by UPRA include:
➡️SIPRA
➡️AGRONET
➡️EVA (Evaluaciones Agropecuarias Municipales)
➡️SIGRA
Likewise, Carlos Augusto Villamizar, executive president of Asinfar Agro, stated: "This workshop allows pharmaceutical industries to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Agriculture, UPRA, and ICA to define the challenges we face and generate synergies that allow us to contribute to the productive market of the agricultural sector."
Finally, progress was presented in the Agricultural Input Information Reporting System (SIRIAGRO), a mechanism provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and administered by UPRA, where market agents report information on agricultural input prices to generate analyses and planning schemes to prevent speculation or shortages.
