Bogotá D. C., (@Minagricultura, @UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). A sectorial analysis of 2023 and projections for 2024 formed the agenda of activities for the seminar 'Where is Agriculture Heading in Colombia', organized by the Agriculture and Livestock Newspaper, in which representatives from entities such as ICA, Finagro, Procolombia, Fedearroz, Asocolflores, and UPRA, among others, participated.

Alejandro Flórez, a professional from UPRA who presented the productive planning (POP) plans for the potato, panela cane, and beef chains, highlighted that "the different actors from the productive chains who have participated in the formulation of these plans have projected goals from a scenario that presents challenges and also opportunities to promote their development in a sustainable and competitive manner."

Thus, from UPRA, the results of the prospective analysis of the POP were presented, as well as the methodology, in general, to formulate such plans emphasizing the visions, identified dynamic variables, as well as the baseline and the 20-year goal for each variable.

Agricultural entrepreneurs in Colombia present at the seminar highlighted the importance of the information contained in the specific chain POPs promoted by UPRA.
Juan Esteban Salazar, manager of Tractocentro Colombia, pointed out that "from the perspective of agricultural mechanization, it will always be relevant to identify the regions, their agricultural vocation, and to be able to participate in projects with our company."

In turn, William Cardona, manager of Safer, stated that "many of the decisions made in the agricultural sector depend on the figures and information provided by UPRA; with that baseline, we make our annual plans as part of our service portfolio."

In this way, the POP projected from UPRA aims to contribute to improving agricultural productivity, food security, competitiveness, and legal security regarding land ownership, under principles of social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
