Bogotá D. C., (@UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). With the presence of the mayors of Cundinamarca, the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (UPRA) and other entities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) presented their institutional offer, with the purpose of establishing a work agenda for the next four years and knowing the support they can provide in the agricultural sector.
Dora Inés Rey Martínez, Technical Director of Social Property Planning and Rural Land Market of the UPRA, commented: "We were presenting the institutional offer of the UPRA, exposing the Agricultural Territorial Kit to support these new administrations in the formulation of the Territorial Development Plan, and also the institutional offer regarding the provision of information, the Information System for Rural Agricultural Planning (SIPRA)."
In addition to SIPRA and the Agricultural Territorial Kit, the UPRA's Technical Director also presented the entity's offer on open data, Areas of Protection for Food Production (APPA), and the agricultural frontier, among other topics.
From the Government of Cundinamarca, the Secretary of Agriculture of the department, Marcos Alberto Barreto García, highlighted the support provided by the UPRA in territorial planning issues: "The contribution of the UPRA has been very valuable for us in all the possibilities we have for territorial planning, the definition of the agricultural frontier, the possibilities we have to define areas for production, in order to adequately plan the territories at the departmental and municipal levels. We appreciate the support we have received from this important entity," concluded the secretary.
The mayors also recognized the services offered by the entity; Angyer Camilo Sánchez, mayor of Cabrera (Cundinamarca), said: "The UPRA offers us an institutional offer where they offer us what we as a municipality can apply. We, as a peasant reserve zone, will be very attentive to those calls to participate in each of them."
During the institutional offer socialization session, entities such as the Rural Development Agency, Agrosavia, the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), Corabastos, and others were also participating.
