The UPRA is socializing the Territorial Kit with more than ten departmental agricultural secretariats in the country.
Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Santander, and Caldas are some of the agricultural secretariats with which an approach has already been made to establish a working agenda.

Bogotá D.C., (@UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). One of the main tasks of the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (UPRA) in the early months of 2024 is to finalize a working agenda with the new regional leaders, both departmental and municipal, with the purpose of supporting the planning and territorial organization of the agricultural sector for the next four years.

For this reason, the entity is socializing the Agricultural Territorial Kit, which is a proposal for guidelines aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector policy in the Territorial Development Plans of the new administrations for 2024-2027. This is an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as the UPRA, to support departments, municipalities, and districts.

Dora Inés Rey Martínez, Technical Director of Social Ownership of Rural Land and Market, stated that "based on the Territorial Kit worked on with the Ministry of Agriculture in coordination with the National Planning Department, an Agricultural Territorial Kit was further developed, which is available to all technical teams of territorial administrations."

Interested parties can consult the Agricultural Territorial Kit on the UPRA website, where they will find three sections: Sectoral agricultural guidelines, information by departments, and help guides.

So far, the UPRA has socialized the Agricultural Territorial Kit with the agricultural secretariats of the departments of Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Norte de Santander, and Caldas. However, other departments such as Tolima, Quindío, Boyacá, Guaviare, Meta, Santander, and Casanare are also on the agenda.

The idea is that with the Territorial Kit, decision-makers can integrate the information provided by the UPRA into their territorial planning exercises, as well as with the goals associated with territorial planning and development plans.
