UPRA presenta la Frontera Agrícola y los resultados de las Zonificaciones escala 1:25.000 para el uso eficiente del suelo rural de la Cuenca del Lago Tota
Bogotá D.C. (@UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). During the third session of the Lake Tota Basin Council, UPRA disclosed the National Agricultural Frontier, as well as the results of Zonifications at a 1:25,000 scale for the efficient use of rural soil in the area of influence. This information was presented to the council members and representatives from the municipalities of Aquitania, Cuítiva, Sogamoso, and Tota.

The focus is on 9 agro-livestock chains in the Lake Tota Basin, associated with the production of green onions, cold-climate legumes, fava beans, peas, corn, potatoes, beef, dairy cattle, and sheep meat.

Juan Diego Chamorro, a professional from UPRA, pointed out that the presented zoning results strengthen agricultural and livestock production planning, promoting economic development in the area within the framework of equity and sustainability.

"In this way, we advance in coordination with the environmental and agricultural sectors to guide the efficient use of soil in the Lake Tota Basin and advocate for the human right to food", stated the professional.

The Lake Tota Basin Council is a participatory advisory body contributing to the Formulation of the Management and Planning Plan for the Lake Tota Basin.
