In April, prices for beef, pork, chicken, and fish decreased

Prices for beef, pork, chicken, and fish experienced a decrease, as did the prices of red eggs.
Bogotá D. C., (@Minagricultura, @UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). The Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (UPRA) provides a general overview of food prices in the main supply centers of the country, according to data from the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) and the Price and Supply Information System (SIPSA).
The report highlights a varied panorama in wholesale food prices during the month of April, with significant trends in different product categories. Prices for beef, pork, chicken, and fish experienced a decrease, as did the prices of red eggs. On the other hand, dairy and processed foods showed an upward trend, which may reflect changes in consumer demand and production costs.
Reductions in grain and cereal prices were evident during April, suggesting a seasonal variation in the supply and demand for these products. This trend may be influenced by climatic and market factors that affect the production and distribution of these foods.
Increases of more than 10% were recorded in most tubers, as well as in some fresh fruits and vegetables. "This increase is mainly attributed to the timing of crop production cycles, as the end of harvests in products such as white onions, long-life tomatoes, tree tomatoes, lulo, and black potatoes, such as capira, had the greatest impact," explained Claudia Cortés, director of UPRA.
For more information and details on the behavior of agricultural input prices, we invite you to consult the full report on the official UPRA website.
