The 2024 Sectorial Pioneers Camp Has Taken Off!

Eight teams will unleash their imagination over six weeks as they explore solutions to complex problems within their organizations.
Bogotá D. C., (@Minagricultura, @UPRAColombia, @claudialili76). With participation from the Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research (Agrosavia), the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), Finagro, the Land Restitution Unit (URT), the National Federation of Coffee Growers, and the Unit for Rural Agricultural Planning (UPRA), the 2024 Sectorial Pioneers Camp has officially begun. This event aims to develop creative problem-solving skills for challenges in the sector by leveraging teamwork and expert mentor guidance.
According to Luz Mery Gómez, Head of the ICT Office, “Pioneers 2024 is an initiative developed in collaboration with the Usage and Appropriation teams and the Data Analytics Lab of the Unified National System of Rural and Agricultural Information (SNUIRA). This camp invites participants to create value in the agricultural sector by designing innovative solutions based on the latest technologies.”
During the event, held at Microsoft’s facilities, participants were introduced to the rules and gained initial exposure to tools and strategies that drive innovation. “Adopting a beginner's mindset, working in multidisciplinary teams, and leveraging technology are key elements for innovation and are the first steps toward creation,” emphasized Oscar Almanza, a team member from the Knowledge Management area at UPRA’s ICT Office.
Jhon Alexander Ceballos from the Land Restitution Unit praised this initiative, stating, “These spaces are essential for our development. It would be ideal to have them more frequently, not just once a year or every six months. For our organizations, it’s crucial to innovate constantly as we face many technological challenges. We need to seize every opportunity to leverage emerging technologies.”
